New feature: Screen sharing can now be done in VIDEO CALL in Whatsapp

Instant messaging app WhatsApp is soon going to provide screen sharing facility to users during video calls. The company is about to release a new feature for this. Beta testing of the new feature has started. In this feature, users will be able to share their screen with other users at the press of a button while making a video call. Screen sharing is supported on apps like Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Skype.

What is the new feature of WhatsApp

WhatsApp for Android has been tracked to beta version 2.23.11.19 by feature tracker WABetaInfo. As per the screenshots shared by the feature tracker, the standard Android recording/casting popup will allow screen sharing with a single tap after users' consent.

This is how the feature will work

You have to tap on the 'Start Now' button to share your screen. Here Google will display some warning to warn you about the risk. You can now show the content of your screen to other users. When the process is complete, you can tap the red Stop Sharing button and the screen sharing will stop.

This feature can be useful for providing remote technical support to your relatives or friends on their smartphones. With the help of these features, users can also show their gallery, videos, ppt etc. to other users during video calls.
