An 11-year-old boy admitted to the AIIMS pediatric ward has been confirmed to have died of bird flu. The disease, also known as aviation influenza, is the first case of death in the country. According to the information received, the child was admitted on July 2 for treatment as his health deteriorated. The child died in D-5 ward last Monday but a sample of the child was sent by AIIMS for testing for the virus which was confirmed to be avian influenza. .

Experts believe that the H5N1 virus is found especially in birds and also in poultry. It spreads very fast in birds. The virus also enters the human body through birds. The H5N1 virus was first identified in China in the 19th century. Birds seem to die of bird flu virus but this is the first case of a human being dying. Measures have already been taken by the government's health department as part of vigilance to prevent bird flu from spreading to humans.

The peculiarity of the virus that spreads bird flu is that it can be transmitted from one person to another through mutations. The world is currently battling an epidemic caused by the corona virus. Experts believe that even bird flu can cause epidemics if vigilance is not maintained. Bird flu had spread to various parts of the country before the Koro infection. Chicken and crows in particular were more prevalent in birds. Hundreds of diseased chickens were destroyed while the sudden death of crows caused a stir. This is the first time that bird flu can enter a person and cause death.
