Solar storms are rushing towards the earth at a speed of 16 lakh km per hour

New Delhi, Dt.10.Jul.2021.Saturday

The powerful solar storm generated on the surface of the sun is rushing towards the earth at a speed of 1.6 million kilometers per hour.

The solar storm could collide with Earth at any time on Sunday or Monday. Scientists have warned that it could disrupt satellite signals, as well as affect aircraft flight, radio signal communication and the weather.

According to a weather forecasting website, the storm, which originated in the Sun's atmosphere, could affect a part of the Earth's magnetic field, causing people living near the polar regions to see a rush at night.

The US space agency NASA estimates that the wind generated by the solar storm is moving at a speed of 1.6 million kilometers per hour. It is possible that its speed may be much higher than estimated.

As a result, atmospheric temperatures may rise outside the Earth, affecting satellites and disrupting GPS navigation, mobile phone signals and satellite TV. Increasing currents in power lines can also cause transformers to fly.

However, this is less likely because the Earth's magnetic field acts as a shield against such solar storms. Earlier, in 1989, a solar storm caused 12-hour lights to go out in Quebec City, Canada. The sky was so bright that people in the western part of the United States could even read a newspaper at night.
