UC Browser summed up India's office

UC Web Company, the parent company of Chinese UC Browser App, has closed its operations in India. UC browsers in India were previously banned and removed from the Play Store, but the company resumed operations shortly after the ban was lifted.

The UC web company seems to have lost hope of lifting the ban this time after the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps simultaneously. The company's office in Gurugram, near New Delhi, had about 100 employees.

Some of these employees were on the payroll of the original Chinese company Alibaba while others were on the payroll of another Indian tech company. Employees on Alibaba's payroll have been laid off while employees of the Indian company are likely to be shifted to other operations of the company.

The Indian government, meanwhile, has asked all banned Chinese apps to answer a total of 77 questions on various issues within three weeks.
