How dangerous is methane in Antarctica, just 10 meters below the surface?

According to the research of the scientist Thurber, the accumulation of micro-organisms near the methane gas depot in Antarctica prevents methane from entering the atmosphere. It occurs only at depths of 200 to 300 meters and is exposed to a large number of microorganisms before it enters the air, but methane gas in Antarctica is only 10 meters deep and is likely to reach the surface quickly. Methane gas from the seas and oceans accounts for only 1% of global methane emissions. Antarctica is home to a quarter of the world's methane. Rose Sea has a gas leak every day. The research is published in the Journal of Proceedings of the Royal Society.
