Conspiracy of fake tweets related to Corona ?, Computerized robots may be spreading propaganda

Ahmedabad. Monday, May 25, 2020

Since the outbreak of the corona virus in the world, it has been a contingency or a man-made issue. Details of further research in this direction have now come out.

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in the US recently said that they were studying tweets about the corona virus on Twitter and found that half of such messages appear to be transmitted by a machine, not a person.

The researchers studied about 20 million tweets placed on Twitter since January and found that 45 percent of the tweets that were spread from the account were likely to be computerized robots.

According to the researchers, this propaganda seems to be a very systematic attempt and its pattern points the finger of suspicion towards the Russian and Chinese origins. The tweets appear to be aimed at spreading false information about Corona.

This time around, the number of such tweets generated during previous natural disasters or elections seems to have doubled. However, the researchers said that much more study was needed to prove that this was a conspiracy hatched by a country.
