Whatsapp has got a great feature, which is most needed in lockdown

Ahmedabad. Saturday 25 April 2020

Whatsapp has taken several steps to help users during the Corona lockdown. Now the company has increased the number of participants for group voice and video calling to 8. Demand for this specialty has grown significantly as a result of recent corporate scandals.

Will Cathcart, head of Whatsapp, has confirmed that the new update will be available to all Android and iPhone users by next week. It is to be mentioned that the call option with the participants in the group was launched in beta version for Android and iOS last week.

It is to be mentioned that last week the call option with 8 participants in the group was launched in beta version for Android and iOS.

The increase in the number of WhatsApp group call participants has come at a time when people are working from home and away from friends and relatives. Demand for video conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Skype has been on the rise since last month. Zoom recently announced that it now has 300 million users worldwide.

WhatsApp can now compete with such video conferencing apps only with extensions in group call participants. Because the user base of the messenger app platform is already strong. Just like chats, all WhatsApp videos and voice calls are end-to-end encrypted.

Whatsapp has long had the facility of group video and voice calling. But from the time of launch it had a limit of 4 participants. However, now at the time of the Covid-19 lockdown, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during a Facebook live video that the company has received a request to increase the number of group calling participants. With that in mind, the limit of 4 is now being changed to 8.
